One morning, a girl named Ruby woke up feeling super excited.

She jumped out of bed and thought,
“Today is the perfect day to go to the carnival!”

Ruby got dressed really fast and made sure she was ready early,
because arriving early means more time for fun.

When Ruby arrived at the carnival, everything was amazing.
Bright lights sparkled everywhere, rides were spinning,
and happy music filled the air.

Then Ruby smelled something delicious.
There were candies, treats, and sweet snacks all around.

And that’s when Ruby saw it.

The muffin.

The muffin looked soft.
The muffin looked tasty.
The muffin looked like the perfect treat.

So Ruby took a bite.

Suddenly, Ruby stopped.

“Oh no… oh no… I really have to go right now!”

Ruby remembered something, she was lactose intolerant.

Ruby’s tummy was not happy.

She quickly hurried away to take a little break so she could feel better again.

After that, Ruby learned an important lesson:

Even yummy treats need a second thought.

From then on, Ruby always checked her food before eating, especially at the carnival,
because food can be very sneaky.
